Business After Hours

The Meredith Area Chamber of Commerce will provide an opportunity for its members to host a Business After Hours Event. The following months are available to members for hosting Business After Hours.

September, November, January, February, April, May

Business After Hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 P.M. The Business After Hours date will be scheduled through the Chamber's Executive Director.

Priorities for Business After Hours requests shall be as follows:

1) First priority for members who have not previously hosted a Business After Hours

2) Second priority for members who have previously hosted a Business after Hours, with priority given to members with the longest time since a previous Business after Hours.

Members are encouraged to call in their requests for Business After Hours at their earliest convenience. In the event of multiple requests for the same months, requests will be prioritized according to the above, and members will be notified two months prior to the business After Hours date as to who will be selected to host the Business After Hours.

Business After Hours Responsibilities

Sponsor Responsibilities

The Sponsor will be responsible for the cost of the BAH which will include light refreshments and drink.

If liquor is planned the host is responsible to secure the proper license and have it in-hand prior to the event. If the sponsor is not charging for alcohol a license is NOT required.

The Sponsor is responsible for the door prizes. The number is determined by the sponsor.

Attendees at the event will place their Business card in a basket for the Door Prize Drawing which will take place at approximately 6:15.

Chamber Responsibilities

The Chamber will advertise the BAH in the local media and mail invitations to all Chamber members.

A member of the BAH committee will meet with the Sponsor prior to the NAH to review the event and answer any questions. A member of the committee will also be present one half hour before the event to set up a reception which includes pens and name cards.

A member of the Business After Hours committee and or a Chamber Board member or officer will make a general announcement about the Drawing and introduce the Sponsor. This will give the Sponsor an opportunity to provide information bout their business and introduce their staff.

Door prizes will be drawn from the Business Cards after the Sponsor speaks. Winners must be present to win.

After the BAH a member of the BAH committee will see that the Chamber office receive the cards. The staff will then type a list of attendees and provide the list to the Sponsor.
